About Me.
Autobiographical Narrative
I am Erin Grabowski, a passionate instructional designer specializing in creating engaging and
effective learning experiences. As a graduate student at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL I
have had the opportunity to develop skills that focus on foundational, and research based instructional
design skills. The learning experiences I have had in the master’s program have prepared me to develop
AECT standard based best practices where students and their learning is the focus of all design activities.
I have developed skills as a collaborative practitioner of a systematic, goal-orientated process to develop
trainings designed to deliver meaningful knowledge and skills to learners.
In 2003 I earned my Bachelor of Science degree with a designation of Cum Laude at USF’s College
of Education. I began my professional career as an elementary educator where I applied my love of
designing dynamic instructional experiences and learning in the classroom setting for nineteen years. As
the technology in the classroom evolved my interest in its application for enhancing learning increased.
It was during the period that the schools shut down for the global pandemic when I decided I wanted to
change my professional direction and learn the best practices of designing instructional experiences
through technology. I am now taking all that prior educational experience and expertise and applying it in
the closely related field of Instructional Design Technology. Whether designing instruction for students in person or through technology, my focus has always been on creating effective learner centered experiences that produce measurable outcomes for my students.
Following my graduation in December 2024, I plan to begin searching for a full-time position as an
instructional designer. Because I am deeply committed to continued development of my own
professional abilities as an instructional designer, I am looking for a position in a company that maintains
a commitment to continuous learning and innovation. It is my goal to secure a position where I am part
of a collaborative team that share a vision of providing research guided principles to educate their
community of learners. I truly enjoy being creative and working collaboratively with others to produce
exceptional data driven results. My long-term career goal is to find a full-time permanent position as an
instructional designer where I can continue to grow, develop and contribute as an integral member of a
diverse team where members share an aligned vision.
I am the kind of person that is dedicated, driven and loyal. I enjoy spending my personal time with
family and friends. I like being outdoors and active, but I also love opportunities where I can be creative
and reflective. I have an enduring passion for knowledge and self-improvement. I have an amazing
husband that has supported me through every step of my career divergence. I am also the mother of
three incredible young men that are now grown and finding their own way in the world. There has been no
better time for me to realign my goal of working as an effective educator to specializing in instructional
design technology and building on the rich experience of educating learners that I already possess.
